BRISD signs key deals at Belt & Road forum in Beijing

BEIJING: The Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD) signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with leading Chinese companies on Tuesday in Beijing to enhance cooperation in key sectors including healthcare, information technology, and infrastructure
The agreements were formalised during the major Belt and Road Business Forum held at the National People’s Congress Conference Center in Beijing. The partnering Chinese companies include Shanghai Kangjoy Health Management Pvt Ltd, Henan Xinxiang Food Industry Co. Ltd, Shanghai Cell Treatment Group Pvt Ltd, and Huangyan Jinteng Mould Factory.
The MOUs aim to foster collaboration in areas such as high-end healthcare systems and medical technology, digital infrastructure and IT solutions, green and smart infrastructure development, youth innovation and climate resilience.
Speaking to media, BRISD Chairman Qaiser Nawab noted that the total value of signed projects at the event reached approximately $860 billion, covering a vast range of sectors: renewable energy, infrastructure, natural gas, oil, digital banking, machinery, food processing, transportation, health care, hotel construction, and financial markets.
As a co-sponsor of the forum, the Pakistan-based Belt and Road platform played a pivotal role in driving discussions around sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The six-member delegation actively engaged with Chinese enterprises to explore opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
The event was organised by the International Business Development Professional Commission of the China Association for International Economic Cooperation (CIBDC) and drew over 1,500 participants, including prominent business leaders and political representatives from Belt and Road partner countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire. –Agencies
