IGP celebates Eid-ul-Adha with families of martyrs

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi offered Eid-ul-Adha prayers along with officers at the Police Lines Headquarters. After the prayers, special prayers were made for the security of the country, the nation, the Muslim Ummah, and the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
IGP Islamabad embraced police officers and extended Eid greetings to them. He also visited the Martyrs’ Monument, laid flowers, and prayed for the high ranks of the martyrs. He stated that living nations never forget the sacrifices of their martyrs. The brave sons who laid down their lives for the peace of the country are a proud asset of the Islamabad Police.
On the joyous occasion of Eid, a grand meal was arranged at the Police Lines Headquarters for the families of martyrs and police officers. The IGP Islamabad mingled with the officers and dined with them. He remarked, “Every officer of mine is my family.”
IGP Islamabad also visited the homes of police martyrs, where he met with their families and children. He distributed gifts among them and reiterated that taking care of the martyrs’ families is the foremost responsibility. “If you face any kind of issue, you can personally contact me,” he assured. He pledged that all their concerns would be addressed.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, IGP Islamabad toured the district, meeting with police officers on duty. He embraced them and distributed Eid gifts (Eidi). He said, “These are the officers because of whom citizens are celebrating Eid peacefully. These officers sacrificed their Eid to protect the public. I commend and greatly appreciate each one of them.” He added, “I am proud of every officer in my force.”
Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, strict security arrangements were ensured across the district on Eid-ul-Adha. All security measures were monitored via the Safe City Control Room, while senior police officers remained present in the field. Thanks to the excellent strategy of the Islamabad Police, no untoward incident occurred in the city.
Over 1,500 police officers were deployed for the security of parks in Islamabad, while more than 300 traffic police officers were stationed to ensure smooth traffic flow. Female police officers were also assigned to provide security for families in public parks. Entry to Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park was restricted to families only. Quick Response Teams of the police continued patrolling the city.
The Islamabad Police also launched a strong crackdown against individuals involved in one-wheeling and public disturbances. Public places were monitored through Safe City cameras and drone surveillance.
