ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Police has launched a dedicated anti-drug campaign “Nasha Ab Nahi” to eradicate narcotics and protect the youth from the curse of drug addiction.
As part of this initiative, police officers have been delivering special lectures at various educational institutions to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and to promote preventive measures.
During the campaign, the Additional SHO of Humak Police Station delivered lectures at Sarhad University’s Islamabad campus, highlighting the harmful effects of narcotics and stressing that drug abuse poses a serious threat to students’ health and future.
On this occasion, students were urged to safeguard themselves and help protect their communities from the scourge of drugs. Parents and teachers were also encouraged to play an active role in preventing young people from falling victim to substance abuse.
The officer appealed to the public to immediately report any drug-related activities in their areas, emphasizing that community cooperation is essential for effectively eliminating this menace.
He further stated that the Islamabad Police and the Anti-Narcotics Force are working jointly to combat drug trafficking. Special teams have been formed to identify and apprehend drug peddlers, particularly in and around educational institutions.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, affirmed that individuals involved in the trade of narcotics and liquor will be brought to justice.
He added that the Islamabad Police is actively engaging with the community to ensure the city remains safe and drug-free.
Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals or activities to their local police station or via the emergency helpline, Pucar-15.
