IGP commends officers for exemplary duties during Chehlum

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police ensured top-tier security arrangements for the Chehlum procession held in G-6, Islamabad. In this regard, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi praised and commended all officers and personnel who performed security duties.
He also expressed special gratitude to the Islamabad administration, Pakistan Army, and Pakistan Rangers for their cooperation. He noted that there was strong coordination among all security institutions.
All forces performed their duties with great courage and determination, as always. “I am proud of every officer and personnel who stood guard for 16 continuous hours to protect the public,” he added.
More than 5,000 officers and personnel were deployed for the security of the main procession. These included DIGs, SSPs, SPs from all divisions, and female police officers. District Police, Investigation Wing, CIA, CTD, and all five divisions remained active throughout the event.
He further said that, for the security of the procession, inner and outer cordons were set up along with flanking positions and rooftop security. The procession was secured with seven-tier security measures. Sniper commandos were stationed on rooftops along the route, and CTD, district police, and Rangers teams were deployed at the front and rear of the procession.
Female police officers and women volunteers were assigned for checking female participants. Specific pedestrian entry routes were designated for the procession, guarded by heavy police presence.
Additionally, special scanners were installed at all entry points to ensure effective screening, and no one was allowed to enter without passing through the designated routes and checks.
IGP Islamabad further stated that protecting the lives and property of citizens and maintaining law and order in the federal capital remain the top priorities of Islamabad Police. No elements will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the citizens under any circumstances.
