ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted separate meetings with officers from the Islamabad Police’s Operations, Traffic, Security, Headquarters, Safe City, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Anti-Riot, Dolphin Force, and Special Protection Unit (SPU).
During the meetings, all officers presented performance reports of their respective divisions and units. The IGP Islamabad reviewed their performance in detail.
IGP Islamabad said, there has been a significant decrease in the crime rate in Islamabad this year. Modern policing methods are being employed to improve the city’s security and combat crime.
Additionally, the Safe City Islamabad project is playing an effective role in crime prevention and identification of criminal elements. An efficient system for patrolling and checking is already in place and is being further enhanced using modern technology.
The traffic system in the city is also improving, with additional steps being taken for better flow and enforcement. Safe City Islamabad is also contributing significantly in traffic monitoring and enforcement. The Anti-Riot Force is undergoing daily training courses, IGP said.
Moreover, the Islamabad Police’s investigation system is highly professional and built on modern lines. Coordination among all divisions is effective and efforts are being made to further strengthen it.
IGP Islamabad issued instructions to all officers to resolve citizens’ issues on a priority basis. He emphasized that land grabbers, drug dealers, and display of weapons will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
A strict crackdown against such elements is ongoing and will be further intensified.
He further instructed all officers to introduce new courses in training units for the improved training of the force. Special directives were given to all commanders to enhance the performance of their respective divisions from good to excellent.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, accompanied by CTO Hamzah Humayun visited the Red Zone checkposts. He reviewed in detail the security situation at entry and exit points, deployment of personnel, checking procedures, and overall security measures.
He instructed the police officers on duty to ensure effective checking of all individuals and vehicles entering the Red Zone. Any suspicious activity must be dealt with immediately. He also emphasized the importance of treating citizens with courtesy during duty.
