ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives and personal interest of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, large-scale departmental promotions have been initiated within the Islamabad Police.
The Departmental Promotion Committee, under the IG’s instructions, held several meetings to ensure promotions are made transparently and on merit against vacant posts. Senior officers reviewed the departmental records and professional capabilities of eligible officials from various ranks.
In this regard, 04 Inspectors to the rank of DSP, 62 Head Constables to the rank of ASI and over 200 Constables will be promoted to the rank of Head Constable. IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that promotion is a reflection of increased responsibility and institutional trust. It is also the fundamental right of every police officer.
He further emphasized that all promoted officers must perform their duties with dedication and professionalism. He expressed hope that the officers will carry out their responsibilities with honesty, diligence, and integrity, upholding the honor of a force made up of martyrs and heroes.
IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi also reiterated that the welfare of the police force remains among his top priorities, and that all officers who have passed their required promotion courses will be promoted based on seniority, merit, and transparency. This promotion process will continue until all vacant positions are filled, IGP said.
