ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has intensified a large-scale crackdown across the federal capital to eliminate criminal elements.
As part of this drive, under the supervision of SSP Investigation Suleman Zafar, the Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) carried out multiple operations and arrested 175 accused, including 63 members of 14 organized criminal gangs involved in robberies, dacoities, and thefts.
Police teams also recovered gold ornaments worth over Rs. 11.7 million, luxury watches worth over Rs. 10 million, 12 motorcycles, weapons and ammunition used in criminal activities from their possession.
SSP Investigation stated that, the accused involved in a triple murder case in Industrial Area police station, and the killing of a bakery owner in Noon police station were timely traced and arrested.
Similarly, in the Sangjani and Kirpa police jurisdictions, accused involved in injuring and killing citizens were also apprehended using modern technology and human intelligence. e further emphasized that behind all these successes were the tireless efforts, professional skills, teamwork, and coordinated strategies of the Islamabad Police officers.
The Islamabad Police remains committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and continues to operate with a zero-tolerance policy against criminals, he added. He further said that, after completing all legal procedures, the recovered items were returned to their rightful owners in a dignified ceremony.
On this occasion, the complainants highly appreciated the professional performance and timely actions of the police teams and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Islamabad Police.
