Pakistan, China to take enduring friendship, partnership to new heights: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the enduring and unbreakable bond between Pakistan and China had grown stronger over time, expressing the hope that the two countries would elevate their friendship and partnership to new heights.
The prime minister, in his message on the 76th National Day of the People’s Republic of China annually observed on October 1, felicitated the leadership and brotherly people of China on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan.
Wishing progress, prosperity, and success for the Chinese people, he said that the National Day served as a reminder of China’s remarkable national journey, besides acknowledging the progress, stability, and China’s role in establishing global peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan took pride in its brotherly relations with China and that under the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, China had achieved progress and prosperity that served as a role model for the world.
He said that the relations between the two countries were based on mutual trust, sacrifice and sincerity, which also guaranteed peace, progress, and prosperity for future generations.
Calling his recent visit to China “highly fruitful and productive,” the prime minister said that historic milestones were achieved in the context of Pakistan-China bilateral relations, including the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and B2B conference, where investment accords worth billions of dollars were signed.
He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was the most significant joint economic project of Pakistan with China, which had now entered its second phase.
