ISLAMABAD: A division bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned hearing on contempt of court plea against accountability court for not deciding NAB jurisdiction in fake accounts case against accused Abdul Jabbar and Najam-uz-Zaman.
A division bench comprising Justice Azam Khan and Justice Muhammad Asif adjourned the hearing of the contempt of court. The court directed the accountability court to provide its report to the petitioner’s lawyer regarding delay in verdict. During the hearing, the accountability court judge submitted a report to the court based on the reasons for the delay in pronouncing the verdict on the jurisdiction of NAB.
The High Court directed that a copy of the report be provided to the petitioner’s lawyer and adjourned the further hearing of the case. During the hearing, Farooq H. Naik’s assistant lawyer Rafay Chaudhry appeared in the court.
The court will review the contents of the report at the next hearing and decide on further action. –Agencies
