DIG directs officers to intensify crackdown against criminals

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, presided over an important crime meeting with Soan zone officials. The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Islamabad Capt. (retd) Qazi Ali Raza, SP Soan zone, Soan zone SDPOs and SHOs.
During the meeting, DIG Islamabad issued directions to the officers emphasizing the strict monitoring of proclaimed offenders enhancing the purpose and effectiveness of patrolling and ensuring the arrest and recovery of stolen goods in cases of robbery, theft and vehicle lifting activities.


He urged the use of all available resources to eliminate criminal elements and called for a crackdown on criminals involved in heinous offenses.
DIG Islamabad further stated that all officers should take action without discrimination against land grabbers, drug dealers and those possessing illegal weapons.
He emphasized that strict legal action should be taken against those involved in serious crimes and that such criminals should be brought to justice. He also stressed that the remaining wanted criminals should be arrested promptly and investigations should be concluded on merit and transparency.
The arrested criminals should be prosecuted based on solid evidence to ensure they receive appropriate punishment as per law, he added.
He directed SHOs to ensure the prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints at the police station level and prioritize solving their issues. Any complaints of corruption, misconduct or abuse of power will be acted upon and the misuse of authority will not be tolerated.
All officers should maintain exemplary discipline and the protection of citizens lives and property is the primary responsibility with no negligence being tolerated in this regard.
