DIG Safe City directs for smooth traffic flow

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Safe City/Traffic, Muhammad Haroon Joiya, chaired an important meeting. The meeting was attended by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Hamza Humayun, SP Traffic Majid Iqbal, Director IT Atif Abbas, Assistant Director Safe City Abbas Mehdi, and Traffic Zonal DSPs.
DIG Safe City/Traffic directed all officers to take every possible measure to maintain the smooth flow of traffic, ensure the enforcement of traffic laws on Islamabad’s highways, and behave courteously with the public. He also instructed the zonal DSPs to make every possible effort to maintain traffic flow within their respective zones.
DIG Safe City/Traffic further stated that Safe City cameras have been installed at internal, entry, and exit points of the city, through which 24/7 strict monitoring of suspicious elements, activities, and individuals is being carried out, along with extensive efforts to maintain traffic flow. In addition, all vehicles entering the city are being closely monitored.
He added that the surveillance system is being further strengthened to ensure the timely elimination of crime.
He requested citizens to report any suspicious activity on “Pukar-15” or the One-Info App so that criminal elements can be eradicated.
