ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions court of Islamabad on Monday paused proceedings in the controversial tweet case against Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha, citing a pending petition before the Islamabad High Court.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the proceedings.
Both Mazari and Chatha appeared before the court as required.
During the hearing, the defence counsel informed the judge that a related petition is still pending before the Islamabad High Court. The counsel argued that further proceedings should wait until the High Court issues its decision.
After reviewing the update, Judge Majoka noted that the court will resume the case once the High Court clarifies the matter.
He then ordered that the hearing be adjourned.
The court fixed December 15 as the next date of hearing. Mazari and Chatha are expected to appear again as the case progresses, depending on the High Court’s pending decision.
