ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired important meetings at the Central Police Office, Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Prisons Ali Akbar, AIG General Inayat Ali Shah, AIG Establishment Shoaib Masood, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Hamza Humayun, Director Safe City and the Director Legal.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the administrative, security and operational affairs of the under-construction Model Jail. He directed all concerned officers to complete all arrangements related to the Model Jail within the stipulated time frame and emphasized that no negligence in construction or management would be tolerated.
On this occasion, IGP Islamabad stated that the Model Jail should be established in accordance with modern facilities, an effective security system, and international standards to ensure better care of prisoners, protection of human rights, promotion of the rehabilitative system, and strict compliance with the law. He further added that the Model Jail should be equipped with modern rehabilitative facilities to facilitate the social reintegration of prisoners.
IGP Islamabad also reviewed the effective management of traffic, enforcement of traffic laws, existing legal issues, and their timely resolution in the federal capital, Islamabad. He appreciated the effective role of Safe City Islamabad in monitoring traffic through cameras and modern technology, timely identification of traffic violations, and maintaining traffic discipline.
Issuing clear directives to all concerned officers, he stressed that measures should be ensured through mutual coordination, interdepartmental harmony, and an effective strategy so as to provide citizens with a safe, organized, and convenient travel environment. IGP Islamabad reaffirmed his resolve that the protection of citizens’ life and property, elimination of traffic-related problems, and the supremacy of law remain the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
