ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has paid rich tribute to the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his 149th birth anniversary, saying that the country’s progress, stability and prosperity are linked to adherence to the Quaid’s guiding principles.
In his message, the Speaker said that Quaid-e-Azam’s integrity, constitutional struggle, unwavering commitment to principles and visionary leadership made the creation of Pakistan possible.
He said that the Quaid’s thoughts and ideals continue to serve as a guiding light for Pakistan’s constitutional, political and democratic system.
The Speaker said that Quaid-e-Azam provided a clear political direction to the Muslims of the subcontinent and transformed the dream of an independent homeland into reality by following the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline.
He said that the Quaid envisioned a welfare state founded on the rule of law, religious freedom, equality and social justice a strong, sovereign and inclusive Pakistan where all citizens, without distinction of colour, creed or race, could live with dignity and complete religious freedom.
Highlighting the upcoming milestone, Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan would celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of the Founder of the Nation in 2026, and that the government’s decision to declare 2026 as the “Year of Quaid-e-Azam” was a timely and historic initiative.
He expressed confidence that the year would provide a unique opportunity to transmit Quaid-e-Azam’s ideas, constitutional values and democratic principles to the younger generation. The Speaker stressed that promoting Quaid-e-Azam’s message at educational, intellectual and social levels was the need of the hour so that the youth could draw inspiration from his vision and play an effective role in the country’s development, stability and prosperity.
Reaffirming Parliament’s commitment, he said that the legislature would continue to work for the supremacy of the Constitution, the strengthening of democracy, national stability and public welfare in the light of Quaid-e-Azam’s ideals. He emphasised that collective efforts were essential to build a strong, self-reliant and developed Pakistan envisioned by the Founder of the Nation. NA Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also paid homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the occasion.
In his message, he said that the Quaid’s lifelong struggle, integrity and principled leadership constituted the true identity of Pakistan. He underlined the importance of familiarising the younger generation with the Founder’s ideals to strengthen national character and cohesion.
The Deputy Speaker reiterated Parliament’s resolve to continue its role in steering Pakistan towards peace, development and stability in accordance with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision. –Agencies
