ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, chaired an important meeting to review the overall crime situation and strengthen measures for maintaining law and order in the federal capital. The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SP Industrial Area Zone, SDPOs of the zone, DSP Investigation and all SHOs concerned.
According to details, DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq reviewed the performance of all officers and issued strict instructions for the early disposal of pending cases. He further directed that operations against illegally residing Afghan nationals be intensified with zero tolerance.
The DIG issued additional directives, stating that: Accused involved in murder and attempted murder cases must be arrested without delay. Proclaimed offenders and members of active criminal gangs should be targeted through intelligence-based operations. Stern action be taken against illegal weapons, drug peddlers, motorcycle and car thieves, kite flyers and kite sellers. Strong action also be taken against the land mafia to ensure the protection of citizens’ property rights.
He said that the protection of life and property of citizens is the top priority of Islamabad Police, and all available resources must be utilised to ensure effective policing, rule of law and restoration of public confidence. DIG Islamabad made it clear that negligence or laxity in duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
