ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol has arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in murder and attempted murder cases, after their extradition from Oman.
The arrested suspects – Imran Hussain and Muhammad Inzamam – were wanted by Punjab Police in separate high-profile cases registered in 2023.
According to the official, Imran Hussain was wanted in a murder case registered at Phularwan Police Station in Sargodha, while Muhammad Inzamam was required by Hafizabad Police in an attempted murder case.
NCB Interpol Islamabad had issued Red Notices for both suspects as part of the coordinated international efforts to trace and secure their arrest. The FIA official said both fugitives were detained in Oman following close cooperation between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Oman. After completion of formalities, the suspects were brought to Islamabad Airport and handed over to FIA Immigration officials.
Later, FIA Immigration Islamabad formally handed both men over to the Punjab Police for further legal proceedings.
The FIA said it remains fully committed to tracking down and arresting fugitives abroad through international cooperation to ensure they face justice in Pakistan.
