IGP directs transparent, merit-based investigations in all cases

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, holds an important meeting at the Central Police Office. The meetings were attended by AIG Investigations/Complaints, AIG Operations, AIG Legal, SSP Security, SSP Investigations, Director Special Initiatives, AD Development, and all zonal SPs.
During the meetings, a detailed review was conducted of various aspects related to the police investigation system, legal matters, security arrangements, and redressal of public complaints.
IGP Islamabad emphasized making the investigation system more effective, transparent, and aligned with modern requirements, and instructed officers to ensure that all cases are investigated strictly on merit and in accordance with the law so that timely justice can be ensured.
IGP Islamabad directed investigating officers to prioritize the timely and effective collection of evidence, pay full attention to legal aspects, and strengthen case prosecution. During the meetings, effective communication and close coordination between the Investigation and legal wings were termed essential to avoid any legal weaknesses during court proceedings.
The timely and effective resolution of public complaints was declared an important benchmark of police performance, and officers were directed to take further measures for improvement in this regard. In addition, security arrangements, ongoing development projects, reform initiatives, and overall institutional performance were also reviewed.
IGP Islamabad instructed the concerned officers to take concrete and practical steps to further improve performance in their respective domains, stating that all officers must fulfill their responsibilities in the best possible manner to transform Islamabad Police into a modern, public-friendly, and professional organization.
In the end, IGP Islamabad reaffirmed the commitment that the reform process would continue consistently to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, the provision of justice, and the further enhancement of policing standards.
