ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police continued large-scale search and combing operations against criminal elements and illegally residing individuals in various areas of the federal capital.
During the current week, Islamabad Police conducted 45 search and combing operations across different localities, with active participation from the Women police as well. During these operations, a total of 5,669 individuals, 2,553 households, and 739 shops were checked. Additionally, 1,600 motorcycles and 535 vehicles were inspected.
As a result of the operations, 64 illegally residing Afghan nationals, 373 suspicious individuals, 147 motorcycles, and 18 vehicles were shifted to various police stations for legal proceedings.

Furthermore, 07 proclaimed offenders wanted in serious criminal cases were also arrested. Moreover, police teams also apprehended 21 accused involved in drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and other crimes.
During the crackdown, 150 grams of heroin, 311 grams of ice (crystal meth), and 20 bottles of liquor were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. Illegal weapons including one Kalashnikov, three rifles, seven pistols, one dagger, and a substantial quantity of ammunition were also seized. Additionally, legal action was also taken against 55 individuals for violations of the tenancy act.
