ISLAMABAD: 927 vehicles were booked for lane violations on IJP road in one month, while 53 heavy vehicles impounded in various police stations for over-speeding in the fast lane.
Following the special directives of the IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, legal action is being carried out effectively against drivers violating traffic laws in order to keep the federal capital safe from accidents, maintain road discipline, and ensure smooth traffic flow in the city.
In this regard, under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, the Islamabad Traffic Police is taking indiscriminate legal action against heavy traffic drivers violating lane rules on IJP Road.
Over the past month, Islamabad Traffic Police has taken action against 927 vehicles for lane violations, while 53 heavy vehicles were impounded in different police stations for over-speeding in the fast lane.
At the same time, the awareness wing of Islamabad Police remains actively engaged in informing citizens about road safety rules on various highways and important locations across the city.
CTO Islamabad Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun stated that lane violation is a serious breach of traffic laws and heavy traffic drivers must refrain from such violations. He added that special checkpoints of traffic police are actively operating on IJP Road to take action against lane violations.
He further stated that strict action will be taken against vehicles, motorcyclists, and other elements causing obstruction in traffic flow. Ensuring compliance with the law and restoring an organized traffic system across the city are among the top priorities.
Citizens have been requested to follow traffic laws and cooperate with Islamabad Police so that the city can be kept safe from accidents.
