ISLAMABAD: Following the directions of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, over 1,000 officers and personnel of Islamabad Police have been deployed to ensure foolproof security in markets and commercial centers. Special squads have also been assigned for foot patrols in markets to enhance public safety, while the patrolling of the Dolphin force has been increased. To provide a safe environment for women, female police officers have also been deployed in markets.
To maintain smooth traffic flow during shopping hours, traffic police officers are performing their duties on major roads and around markets so that citizens do not face any inconvenience.
Similarly, continuous monitoring of markets and commercial centers is being carried out through the Safe City modern cameras, while all senior police officers are personally supervising the security arrangements. DIG Islamabad has urged citizens to discourage professional beggars present in markets and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
He further stated that during Eid shopping, Islamabad Police is actively present in the field to ensure security and convenience, and remains fully committed to the protection of the lives and property of citizens.
