ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi reviewed the security arrangements for the central procession of Youm-e-Ali. On this occasion, all DIGs and other senior police officers accompanied him.
IGP Islamabad inspected the security arrangements along the procession routes and at the entry and exit points. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Islamabad Police has ensured excellent security arrangements for the central Youm-e-Ali procession. More than 3,500 officers and personnel have been deployed to perform security duties on this occasion. He further said that the procession route is being continuously monitored through the Safe City and a mobile control room, while effective parking arrangements have also been made for the participants. He directed senior police officers to remain present in the field to check the security arrangements and brief the personnel. All officers were instructed to stay alert at all times while performing their duties.
IGP Islamabad emphasized that the top priority of Islamabad Police is to ensure the protection of the lives and property of citizens. Earlier, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, along with senior police officers, attended an Iftar in the Diplomatic Enclave with members of diplomatic missions, the community, and civil society.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also attended the gathering. During the Iftar, the spirit of mutual cooperation, harmony, and tolerance was highlighted, and the role of police and the community in serving citizens and maintaining peace and security was appreciated.
Furthermore, late at night the IG Islamabad reviewed security arrangements at various worship places in the city. He met the police officers on duty and issued necessary instructions to further improve security duty, ensure monitoring of entry and exit points, and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals. IGP Islamabad also urged all officers to perform their duties with vigilance, responsibility, and complete alertness.
