ISLAMABAD: Director General Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya held a meeting with traffic police officers at Safe City Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, SP Traffic Majid Iqbal, and zonal DSPs.
During the meeting, the performance of traffic police officers during the holy month of Ramadan was appreciated, and a traffic plan was devised to ensure smooth flow of traffic on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr, so that citizens of the federal capital Islamabad can enjoy the best possible travel facilities during the festive days.
On this occasion, the DG Safe City/DIG Traffic stated that strict action (would be taken against one-wheeling, wrong-way driving, and other traffic violations during Chand Raat and Eid days. He further directed that traffic flow should be effectively maintained during Eid prayers timings and congestion around recreational spots should be avoided.
He added that maximum deployment of traffic police officers should be ensured during Eid days to maintain smooth traffic flow. Moreover, Safe City cameras will be utilized to monitor traffic and assist officers in taking effective action against violators, so that citizens do not face any inconvenience. Furthermore, citizens can call “Pukar-15” or “Traffic Helpline-1915” in case of any difficulty.
