Prayers at Faisal Masjid for COAS success, call for unity echoes in khutba

ISLAMABAD: A special prayer was offered at Faisal Mosque following the Juma sermon here Friday, seeking success for Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in his efforts and for Pakistan’s continued peace, stability and prosperity.
The congregation was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture, Dr. Suliman bin Ali Al-Khateeb, along with a large number of worshippers from the twin cities, reflecting a collective spirit of unity and supplication.
President of International Islamic University Islamabad and Acting Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmad, on the occasion, highlighted key challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah and underscored the importance of unity and solidarity among Muslim countries. He also prayed for enduring and strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He appreciated the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, acknowledging his role in promoting security and stability at national, regional, and international levels. He particularly noted efforts aimed at easing tensions, strengthening peace, and safeguarding national interests, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to contributing positively to regional and global security.
The sermon emphasized the importance of fearing Allah, adhering firmly to the teachings of Islam, and maintaining unity among Muslims. It highlighted that Islam is a great divine blessing that unites hearts and fosters brotherhood, while warning that division leads to weakness and decline within the Muslim Ummah.
The khutba underscored that strength lies in collective unity and adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah, urging believers to avoid discord and remain steadfast. It concluded with prayers for the guidance of Muslim leaders, unity among them, and peace and security across Muslim lands.
