ISLAMABAD: Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday paid rich tribute to the security forces for their successful intelligence-based operation in Bannu, praising their bravery and professionalism in eliminating terrorists.
In a statement, the Speaker said the timely and effective action against terrorists was clear evidence of the high professional capabilities of the security forces.
He particularly commended the forces for neutralising the terrorist ring leader along with other militants during the operation.
Ayaz Sadiq also paid homage to the security personnel for avenging the sacrifices of martyrs, including Lieutenant Colonel Gul Faraz Shaheed and others who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
He said the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces in foiling the nefarious designs of anti-state elements were a matter of pride for the nation.
The Speaker said that the prompt operation had averted a possible major tragedy, reflecting the exceptional preparedness and operational efficiency of the security institutions.
Reaffirming national resolve against terrorism, he said the entire nation would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against militancy.
He further said that ongoing operations under “Azm-e-Istehkam” were essential for ensuring peace and stability in the country.
Ayaz Sadiq said that the coordinated efforts of the security forces and law enforcement agencies were playing a key role in eradicating the menace of terrorism, adding that the nation was proud of its brave armed forces who remained ever ready for the defence of the country and maintenance of peace.
