ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday said formal response from Iran about confirmation to attend Islamabad Peace Talks was still awaited, however vowed continued efforts to convince the country as part of “diplomacy and dialogue”.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting in his statement on X at 1930 hours PST said, “Pakistan as the mediator is in constant touch with Iranians and pursuing the path of diplomacy and dialogue.”
The minister emphasized that as the ceasefire ends at 0450 hours PST on 22nd April, the decision of Iran to join the second round of talks was “critical”.
Tarar said Pakistan had made “sincere efforts” to convince the Iranian leadership to participate in the second round of talks, and stressed that the efforts were continuing. –Agencies
