ISLAMABAD: PS Shalimar conducted a successful operation and arrested a accused involved in harassing citizens on various roads and deserted locations, as well as robbing them of cash at gunpoint. The arrested accused has been identified as Shakeel Ahmed.
The accused was also involved in intimidating citizens, especially families, at gunpoint and snatching cash from them. The police team utilized both human intelligence and technical resources to apprehend the suspect. A vehicle used in the crimes, along with weapons and ammunition, was also recovered from his possession. According to the initial investigation, the accused has a prior criminal record.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza stated that effective actions against criminal elements will continue to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. Islamabad Police is taking all possible measures to safeguard the public, and no criminal elements will be allowed to disturb public peace. Citizens are also requested to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity or object to the nearest police station or the emergency helpline “Pukar-15.”
