ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, formally inaugurated the fully paperless licensing system of Islamabad Traffic Police, keeping in view public convenience and modern requirements.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, along with other senior traffic police officers, was also present at the occasion. After the inauguration, the IGP Islamabad conducted a detailed inspection of the paperless licensing counters and issued necessary instructions for further improvement. He stated that this initiative has been taken to save citizens valuable time and to provide better services.
He further stated that in the past, citizens were required to fill out medical forms, attach photographs, and bring multiple documents to obtain a driving license.
However, under the new system, there is no longer any need to bring documents, photocopies, or photographs.
Now, all stages from medical examination to the issuance of the driving license have been made fully digital and paperless. Citizens are only required to bring their national identity card and, after completing the legal process, can easily obtain a driving license from Islamabad Traffic Police.
IGP Islamabad appreciated the performance of CTO Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and his team, stating that they completed this important project in a short period of time, which is commendable.
He also announced that the licensing fee system will soon be fully digitalized to provide further convenience to the public.
IGP Islamabad further stated that Islamabad Police will continue to take all possible measures to provide modern, transparent, and user-friendly services to citizens and will introduce more innovative initiatives in the future.
This initiative by Islamabad Traffic Police marks an important milestone in improving public service delivery through the use of modern technology.
