ISLAMABAD: Over a period of 10 days, the Islamabad Police’s Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) arrested 16 criminals from three dangerous gangs involved in serious crimes such as robbery and highway dacoity, including three accused in a blind murder case in the jurisdiction of the Noon Police Station. The arrested accused were found in possession of a kidnapped minor girl, a motorcycle, cash, and valuable mobile phones, with a total value of 5.48 million rupees.

According to the details, following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, along with SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, In-Charge RDU, and other police officers, held an important press conference at the “Rescue-15” station.
During the conference, DIG Islamabad informed that the Islamabad Police’s Robbery and Dacoity Unit had achieved significant successes in various serious cases, continuing operations against organized crime under the vision of IGP Islamabad, “Crime-Free Islamabad,” without any bias. In recent days, accused involved in a blind murder case in the area of Noon Police Station were arrested in a short time using modern technology and human resources.
DIG Islamabad further explained that on March 25, 2026, four people (a woman, a child, and two men) were murdered, and an eight-year-old girl was kidnapped in the Islamabad Homes Phase III, Jhangi Syedan area. The case was registered immediately. It was a blind murder case, and police teams were formed right away. Using advanced technical means, CCTV footage, and human intelligence, the police teams managed to trace and arrest three accused (two men and one woman) in less than 24 hours. The kidnapped girl, aged eight, was safely recovered. The arrested accused were identified as Muhammad Yusuf, Ibrahim, and Reshman Bibi, while the search for other fugitive accused is ongoing.
Similarly, in the area of Bhara Kahu Police Station, on April 6, 2026, employees of the Zonal Head Mian Electronics Branch were on their way to deposit money in a bank when two armed motorbike riders robbed them of 4.267 million rupees at gunpoint. The three members of the “Shero Gang” involved in this robbery were arrested, including gang leader Sher Khan, Sher Wali, and Hasnain Imran. Three million rupees were recovered from the arrested criminals.
DIG Islamabad also mentioned that accused on motorcycles involved in snatching incidents at gunpoint in the areas of Khanna, Hamak Station, Industrial Area and Shehzad Town Police Stations, who snatched cash and mobile phones, were arrested. Seven members of the “Raja Gang” were arrested, including two accused who received stolen mobile phones. The arrested criminals were identified as Shehzad Ali, Shehroz, Haroon, Nauman Ijaz, Shehzada Ahmed Ali, Zeeshan Ali, and Usman Ali. A total of 20 valuable mobile phones, a motorcycle used in the incidents, and illegal weapons with ammunition were recovered from the criminals. These accused have criminal records and have confessed to multiple crimes in the areas of Civil Lines and Chaklala in Rawalpindi. So far, eight cases have been traced, and further investigations are ongoing.
Furthermore, three members of the “Sani Gang,” consisting of motorcycle-riding accused, were arrested from the areas of Karachi Company Police Station and Shalimar Police Station. The police recovered five valuable mobile phones, cash, and a motorcycle used in the robberies from their possession. Five cases have been traced so far. The arrested criminals were identified as Sohail, Ikram Ullah, and Muhammad Usman.
In conclusion, DIG Islamabad stated that operations against criminals would continue without discrimination, resulting in a significant reduction in robberies and other serious crimes in the federal capital.
