ISLAMABAD: The district & sessions court of Islamabad on Tuesday continued proceedings in the murder case of TikToker Sana Yaousaf, recording the statement of another prosecution witness before adjourning the hearing due to the illness of the defence counsel.
The case was heard by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. During the hearing, Prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain Kyani appeared before the court and presented the case.
The prosecution produced another witness, whose statement was recorded as part of the ongoing trial. The defence counsel began cross-examining the witness, but the process could not continue as the lawyer’s health condition worsened during the proceedings.
Following this situation, the court stopped further proceedings for the day. Taking note of the defence counsel’s condition, the judge adjourned the hearing to April 30.
The case relates to the killing of TikToker Sana Yousaf and is currently in the stage of recording evidence. The court is hearing statements from prosecution witnesses, which will be followed by further stages of the trial.
The next hearing will resume the process of cross-examination and continuation of evidence recording.
