DPM reviews implementation status of austerity measures, expresses satisfaction on compliance

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday reviewed the implementation status of austerity measures and expressed satisfaction on its compliance.

The deputy prime minister chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Fuel Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures, a DPM’s Office news release said.

The DPM/FM stressed that given the current challenges, it was essential that all sectors practice conservation and austerity until circumstances improve. Minister IT also displayed the dashboard prepared for tracking implementation of the austerity measures.

The DPM/FM further emphasized that only those cases for exemption from these austerity measures be brought to the committee which are essential in carrying out critical and time-bound work of the Government.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Ministers of IT, Climate Change, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretaries of Cabinet Division, National Security Division, Petroleum Division, Planning Division, Chief Secretaries of all provinces and other senior officials from concerned ministries. –Agencies
