PESHAWAR: The Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project recently organized a China–Pakistan Culinary Experience Event aimed at promoting cultural exchange and strengthening mutual understanding among project staff.
Employees from China and Pakistan participated enthusiastically, sharing a variety of traditional dishes that reflected the rich food heritage of both countries.
Chinese dumplings were served alongside popular Pakistani specialties, including curry beef, chapati, and samosas, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The event provided an opportunity for staff members from both nations to interact in an informal setting, encouraging greater cross-cultural communication and camaraderie. “This event made us feel like one family. Sharing food is one of the best ways to understand each other’s culture,” said a Pakistani employee working at the project site.
The Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project, under construction on the Swat River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is one of Pakistan’s major multipurpose infrastructure projects. Upon completion, it is expected to generate around 800 megawatts of electricity, improve water storage capacity, meet irrigation needs, and contribute to flood mitigation in surrounding areas. –Agencies
