ISLAMABAD: Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that a mother is a great blessing bestowed by Almighty Allah and an eternal symbol of love, compassion, sacrifice, and selflessness.
In a special message on the occasion of Mother’s Day, he said that a mother is not only the foundation of a family but also plays a central role in building a civilized, dignified, and strong society.
The Chairman of the Senate said that the day, observed worldwide to honour mothers and acknowledge their invaluable contributions, serves as a reminder that a mother’s love is selfless, pure, and among humanity’s greatest strengths.
He remarked that a mother’s lap is the first institution of learning, where an individual receives lessons in love, morality, tolerance, and humanity.
He further stated that mothers hold an exceptionally high status in Pakistani society, while the country’s religious and social values strongly emphasize respect, care, and obedience towards parents, especially mothers.
He said that honouring mothers, caring for them, and acknowledging their sacrifices should not be limited to a single day, but should instead become a permanent part of everyday life.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that all mothers striving tirelessly for the upbringing, education, and bright future of their children deserve the utmost respect of the entire nation.
Paying tribute to the mothers of the nation, he said that their role has always remained fundamental to the country’s progress and stability. –Agencies
