Law minister meets Canadian HC, discusses judicial reforms, bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar met with Canadian High Commissioner His Excellency Mr. Tarik Ali Khan here on Tuesday to discuss judicial reforms, improvement of the legal system, institutional cooperation, and the promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada.
During the meeting, the Canadian High Commissioner appreciated Pakistan constructive and mediation oriented diplomatic efforts amid tensions between Iran and the United States. He also commended Pakistan cooperative role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides expressed keen interest in further enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy security, critical minerals, environmental collaboration, and sustainable development. The growing role of Canadian companies in supporting Pakistan mineral development ambitions and clean energy potential was also acknowledged and appreciated.
The Canadian High Commissioner reaffirmed Canada commitment to supporting judicial training, technical assistance, and institutional partnerships. Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar appreciated Canada cooperation in strengthening Pakistan justice sector and judicial reforms. He stated that training programs through the Federal Judicial Academy would further enhance professional capacity and deepen legal cooperation between the two countries.
The minister reiterated the government commitment to modernizing the justice delivery system and promoting meaningful international partnerships. –Agencies
