SIHL achieves rare JCI accreditation

ISLAMABAD: In a landmark moment for Pakistan’s healthcare sector, Shifa International Hospitals Limited (SIHL) has officially achieved Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation as an Academic Medical Center (AMC), joining fewer than 70 institutions worldwide that hold this prestigious distinction.
JCI Academic Medical Center accreditation is among the most demanding and prestigious designations in international healthcare. It is awarded only to institutions that simultaneously demonstrate world-class clinical care, rigorous medical education and advanced human subjects research, all under the governance of the highest international quality and safety standards.
SIHL joins elite global institutions by achieving rare JCI accreditation
“The fact that fewer than 70 such centers exist globally speaks to the extraordinary level of commitment required to earn and sustain this recognition,” the statement noted.
Shifa’s recent assessment demonstrated “full compliance across all evaluated standards,” with the SAFER™ risk matrix returning entirely clear — a clean outcome that reflects the institutional discipline, clinical maturity, and organizational strength the hospital has built over decades.
The statement described the achievement as not merely an institutional success but a national milestone that firmly places Pakistan on the map of global healthcare excellence.
