Hamas has said that all employees of the interior ministry will remain in their positions to provide security despite the dissolution of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), Al Jazeera reported on Monday.
“All Ministry of Interior employees will continue their work to ensure there is no security vacuum,” Ismail al-Thawabta, director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, told Al Jazeera.
The move came after Hamas announced the dissolution of the body that governed the Gaza Strip and transferred the territory’s administration to a team of technocrats, as stipulated under the US-brokered ceasefire.
