Dar lauds UNOCHA role in humanitarian assistance, express Pakistan’s commitment to continue supporting work in Occupied Palestinian Territory

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday expressed Pakistan’s commitment to continue supporting the vital work being carried out by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), especially to address the humanitarian situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The deputy prime minister met UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher, who paid call on him here, a DPM’s Office news release said.
The DPM/FM appreciated the role of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), in providing humanitarian assistance to people during disasters and conflicts across the globe. He also appreciated OCHA’s work during climate-induced disasters in Pakistan.
Tom Fletcher commended Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability, and appreciated its invaluable contributions to the United Nations over the years. –Agencies
