Tribute paid to martyrs on Youm-e-Shuhada Police

ISLAMAwBAD: A dignified ceremony was held at Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad, to honor the sacrifices of police martyrs. The event was attended by DIG Traffic/ DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya as the chief guest.
According to details, the ceremony was organized to pay tribute to the 70 martyrs of Islamabad Police. The chief guest laid a floral wreath at the martyrs memorial, offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs ranks, and was presented with a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out police contingent.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers of Islamabad Police, the families and children of the martyrs, representatives of the business community, and members of civil society. The chief guest, accompanied by senior police officers, met with the families of the martyrs and acknowledged their sacrifices.
During the event, tribute was paid to the unparalleled sacrifices made by the martyrs of Islamabad Police for the country and the nation. Participants were also shown documentaries and videos highlighting the lives, services, and sacrifices of the police martyrs.
In his address, DIG Traffic/DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya said that the martyrs of Islamabad Police sacrificed their lives while performing their duty to protect the country and its people. He emphasized that their sacrifices would always be remembered in golden words.
He further stated that Youm-e-Shuhada Police is an occasion to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs and renew the commitment to their noble mission. He reiterated that the martyrs gave their today to ensure a secure tomorrow for future generations and that those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty remain a source of immense pride.
He also remarked that, owing to the sacrifices of the martyrs of Islamabad Police, the federal capital is counted among the safest cities in the world. Senior police officers also addressed the ceremony, stating that the services and sacrifices of the police martyrs are everlasting.
They reaffirmed that Islamabad Police stand with the families of the martyrs in every moment of joy and sorrow.
They noted that 70 personnel of Islamabad Police sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and emphasized that the police regard themselves as guardians of the martyrs children. The officers further stated that Islamabad Police has never forgotten the sacrifices of its martyrs and that living nations always honor and remember those who gave their lives for the country’s peace and security.
They described the brave sons of Islamabad Police who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace as a source of immense pride, adding that it is because of their sacrifices that the people can live in peace and security. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chief guest met the children of the martyrs and distributed gifts among them.
