ISLAMABAD: Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has so far cancelled allotments of 19 plots in sectors F-14 and F-15 after their owners failed to clear outstanding installments and dues despite being provided multiple opportunities since 2016.
FGEHA spokesperson said the action was part of the Authority’s ongoing measures to accelerate development work in the two sectors, address the concerns of allottees and ensure timely completion of the residential project.
He said in the first phase, FGEHA cancelled allotments of six plots following recommendations of a special committee constituted on the directions of the Authority’s Executive Board.
The committee reviewed relevant records, rules, regulations and legal requirements before recommending cancellation of the plots whose owners had failed to meet their financial obligations since 2016.
In a subsequent action, the Authority cancelled allotments of 13 more plots after further scrutiny of records by the special committee and its recommendations against the defaulters.
The spokesperson said the action was taken in accordance with applicable laws and aimed at removing financial bottlenecks hindering development activities while safeguarding the rights and interests of allottees who had fulfilled their financial obligations.
He said the Authority had also prepared a list of allottees in F-14 and F-15 with outstanding dues, adding that cancellation proceedings against other persistent defaulters would be initiated in accordance with the law.
He warned allottees who had failed to clear their long-standing installments despite repeated opportunities that their allotments could also be cancelled if they did not fulfill their financial obligations.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson said regular review meetings, field visits and administrative interventions were being undertaken to accelerate development activities and ensure provision of basic infrastructure and services in sectors F-14 and F-15.
He said the Authority, under the leadership of Federal Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Secretary Housing and Works Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood and FGEHA Director General Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, was pursuing measures to develop the sectors as modern, environment-friendly, climate-resilient and sustainable residential communities.
He added that the timely completion of the project and early handing over of plots to allottees remained among the Authority’s top priorities.
The spokesperson also appreciated the allottees who had regularly fulfilled their financial obligations, saying their cooperation had contributed to maintaining the pace of development activities.
