RAWALPINDI: The Suthra Punjab Agency(SPA) Rawalpindi organised a special awareness walk on Tuesday to mark National Minorities Day and promote solidarity, tolerance and interfaith harmony.
The walk was led by the Managing Director, SPA and Chief Executive Officer, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC), Rana Sajid Safdar and attended by officers, workers and a large number of Christian employees.
Participants raised slogans in support of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, tolerance and mutual respect.
Awareness banners highlighting the valuable contributions of the minority community to Pakistan were also displayed along Iran Road.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Sajid said the minority community had played a valuable and unforgettable role in the development, prosperity and stability of Pakistan.
He said National Minorities Day reminded the nation that Pakistan was the homeland of all citizens and that every citizen was an equal partner in the country’s development.
He said Christian employees of the organisation were playing their role in serving the country and keeping cities clean, describing their contribution as a reflection of national solidarity.
Safdar said the SPA would continue to promote cleanliness, public awareness, unity, tolerance, mutual respect and interfaith harmony on national days and important occasions.
