ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police made foolproof security arrangements at mosques, religious gatherings, and for the main procession on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal and Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.
The main procession commenced from Jamia Masjid Al-Raza, G-7, passed through its designated routes, and concluded peacefully at Darbar Sakhi Mehmood Badshah, Aabpara.
More than 3,000 officers and officials of Islamabad Police performed security duties during the procession. Zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs supervised the security arrangements in their respective areas, while senior police officers also visited various locations and procession routes to review the security arrangements.
During the procession and religious gatherings, SWAT and DELTA Force commandos, CTD officials, Capital Patrol Unit officials, female commandos, armed and plainclothes police officers and officials performed their duties with utmost responsibility and vigilance.
Islamabad Traffic Police made special arrangements to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, while strict checking was carried out along the procession routes and at entry and exit points. To ensure the security of citizens, checking was conducted through walk-through gates and metal detectors, while the Bomb Disposal Squad also carried out thorough searches and sweeps of designated areas.
Through Islamabad Police’s coordinated strategy, effective supervision, and the cooperation of all relevant departments, the main 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession, along with other religious gatherings, concluded successfully in a peaceful environment.
On this occasion, senior police officers also appreciated the cooperation of citizens with Islamabad Police and stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the maintenance of law and order remain the foremost priorities of Islamabad Police.
