ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry met a delegation of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance. DIG Headquarters Muhammad Jawad Tariq and office-bearers of the alliance were also present. The meeting discussed matters related to goods transportation, container availability, and issues faced by traders and transporters.
On the occasion, the IGP Islamabad directed that containers carrying medicines, food items and other perishable goods be handed over to their owners without delay to prevent unnecessary difficulties for citizens and the business community. He further said that owners of containers used for maintaining law and order would be paid appropriate rental charges.
IGP Islamabad said that timely resolution of legitimate issues faced by traders and transporters and provision of necessary facilitation are among the priorities of Islamabad Police. He directed the concerned officers to ensure all necessary measures in this regard.
Later, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Captain (Retd.) Sohail Chaudhry visited Nilore Police Station and reviewed the ongoing construction and renovation work. He inspected various sections of the police station and received a briefing from the concerned officers on the progress, quality and other arrangements.
IGP Islamabad directed that all construction work be completed at the earliest in accordance with the prescribed standards and within the stipulated timeline, without compromising on quality. He also directed that proper facilities, a suitable waiting area, cleanliness and a welcoming environment be ensured for citizens, along with necessary facilities for police officers and officials.
He emphasized that police stations should be made more accessible, secure and citizen-friendly so that people do not face unnecessary difficulties while accessing police services.
