ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday slashed petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices by Rs2.27 and Rs3.56 per litre, respectively, citing fluctuations in international oil prices.
Following the revision, petrol will now cost Rs389.03, while HSD will be sold at Rs404.97 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised fuel prices will be applicable for September 29.
Ogra has also begun publishing daily petroleum prices on its website to improve trans-parency and allow changes in international oil prices to be passed on to consumers more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices are based on a seven-day av-erage of international market prices, in line with international practice.
