ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Ali Waseem visited the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Headquarters, where senior CTD officers gave him a detailed briefing on counter-terrorism measures, ongoing operations across the district, security arrangements at sensitive locations and the professional training of officers and officials.
DIG Islamabad reviewed the overall performance of the CTD and various professional matters. He directed that counter-terrorism measures be further strengthened, operations against terrorism and crime be improved and coordination among the relevant departments be further enhanced.
During the visit, the DIG Islamabad also held a meeting with the senior CTD command, during which professional matters, counter-terrorism measures, the prevailing security situation and ongoing operations were discussed in detail.
DIG Islamabad directed that the professional capabilities of officers and officials be further enhanced and that training activities continue on a regular basis. He said that modern professional training, a high level of preparedness, effective coordination and a timely response are essential for effective action against terrorism.
DIG Islamabad directed that counter-terrorism measures be further strengthened to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintain law and order in Islamabad.
He also emphasized effective coordination among all relevant officers and departments, timely exchange of information and a coordinated strategy to effectively address security challenges.
