ISLAMABAD: The District Health Office Islamabad has expanded access to free Hepatitis C screening, diagnosis and treatment services at several public health facilities across the capital under the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C.
According to official sources, free Hepatitis C screening, diagnosis and treatment facilities are now available at Rural Health Centres Tarlai, Bhara Kahu and Sihala, Community Health Centres Rawat and Shah Allah Ditta, and Basic Health Centres Sohan and Golra Sharif.
The initiative aims to facilitate early detection and timely treatment of Hepatitis C and improve access to essential healthcare services, particularly through primary healthcare facilities across the capital.
The DHO said free medical consultation, screening and available Hepatitis C-related healthcare services were also being provided at government health facilities across Islamabad.
Health authorities emphasized that Hepatitis C is a preventable, diagnosable and treatable disease and that timely screening and appropriate treatment can help prevent serious health complications.
Citizens have been advised to visit their nearest government health facility for screening and medical consultation and to seek timely medical advice in case of suspected exposure or other health concerns.
The DHO also urged citizens to adopt preventive measures and cooperate with healthcare workers to support efforts aimed at reducing the burden of Hepatitis C in the capital.
The initiative is part of broader national efforts to expand access to Hepatitis C screening and treatment and move towards the elimination of the disease.
