MURREE: Rescue officials rescued 90 tourists stuck for 10 hours inside cable cars in Patriata, Murree.
The tourists were stuck for quite a long period of time without food and water.
On Saturday evening, tourists were enjoying scene views of the hill station sitting in chairlifts when strong winds derailed the rope of the cable cars.
All twelve of the cable cars kept on dangling in the air. After rain ended and strong winds subsided, the rescue operation began and tourists were rescued.
The administration said that the cable service has been suspended.
According to media, Assistant Commissioner Murree said that an inquiry will be conducted to probe why the cable cars were still operational and strict action will be taken against those who put lives of people at risk.
