ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday has said that doctors are not politicians and that ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s name was placed on Exit Control List (ECL) as per courts decisions.
She was talking to media persons in Islamabad after the hearing of contempt of court case against her. The special assistant told that process is underway to remove name of Nawaz Sharif from ECL. In reply to a question regarding health of ex-president Asif Ali Zardari, Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government will accept the report of public hospital instead of private hospital and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should adopt due course for remedy.
Talking about the Azadi March of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Islamabad, she said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s workers are present in the ground but not in a condition to protest. Government is working to bring reforms in every sector and issues related to judicial system will be resolved after consultation, she also stated.
Agencies add: Special Assistant to Prime minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has initiated the process to bring judicial reforms to ensure inexpensive and timely justice to the litigants.
Talking to media here, she said that Prime Minister has constituted a special committee headed by Law Minister to address the issues related to District Courts of the federal capital.
