Two soldiers martyred, four terrorists killed

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four suspected militants and arrested five others in a clash with terrorists in Charkhel area of Boya tehsil in North Waziristan.
According to reports, two security personnel were martyred and three others were injured during the incident.
The martyred personnel were identified as Havaldar Sher Zaman and SepoyMuhammad Jawad while the injured include Lance Naik Ajab Gul, Sepoy Bulbul Nadir and Havaldar Khaliq Amin. The bodies of the fallen soldiers and injured were shifted to FTC Hospital in Miranshah. A spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed that the militants had attacked a security checkpoint, killed three soldiers and wounded three others.
Reports claimed that security forces had taken bodies of the terrorists into custody. Despite the successful elimination of terrorists from the tribal district in military operation Zarb-e-Azb, militants have still managed to maintain presence in the area and continue to occasionally harass security forces.
The clash in North Waziristan occurred a day after two people were killed in target killing incidents in Mir Ali tehsil of the district. A government contractor was gunned down near Mir Ali Hospital by unknown assailants who later fled the scene.
Another target killing incident occurred in Khadi village where a local was shot dead by unknown armed men. The culprits fled the scene after the murder.
Earlier in the week, a soldier was martyred while two others were injured in a terrorist attack on a check post near the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the FC (Frontier Corps) retaliated and killed two terrorists. The DG ISPR also posted photographs of terrorists on official Twitter account. No banned outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.–Agencies
