Says mafia behind negative propagandas Authenticates CM Punjab’s position Set to visit Karachi today
LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday resolved that the government would never succumb to any pressure rather would face challenges despite all negative propaganda being created by a mafia. “I want to clarify that we will never succumb to the pressure. We have always faced the challenges and will continue doing so,” the prime minister resolved in a meeting with the members of the national assembly from Punjab during his day long visit here. He told the parliamentarians that a mafia, that had been detracting the people since decades to fulfill their nefarious designs, was now creating a negative impression against the government. They intentionally try to create a chaotic situation just to undermine the positive changes being brought about by the government. He said the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problems being faced by the people of their respective constituencies, difficulties in execution of development projects and their early resolution. The prime minister said no part of the country would be discriminated regarding the development work. He advised the parliamentarians to keep in contact with the people in their constituencies and always strive to resolve their issues. The members of national assembly also apprised the prime minister about the social and development issues confronting the people in their areas. The prime minister directed the provincial government to devise a mechanism for effective coordination between the administration and the parliamentarians. He told the meeting that the elimination of corruption was the key component of the Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf’s manifesto and for the first time in Punjab’s history, notorious criminals and land mafia gangs had been taken to task. He said the government had inherited a country with record deficit, constantly devaluing currency and huge debt burden but now the situation had changed with rupee gaining strength. He told the parliamentarians that the world was looking at Pakistan as an attractive destination for investment. The country had also get an unprecedented acknowledgment in Davos where the representatives of giant firms believed that Pakistan offered immense opportunities and potential for investment. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday arrived here on a day long visit to meet the provincial leadership and discuss the matters pertaining to politics and development. Soon after arriving here, the prime minister met Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar. During the meeting, they discussed the overall situation of the province, welfare of the people and development projects. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again made it clear that Usman Buzdar would continue working as Punjab Chief Minister, media reported on Sunday. Addressing a meeting of the Members of National Assembly (MNAs) and (MPAs) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Punjab, PM Imran said Buzdar would remain the Punjab chief minister and he will not be removed at any cost. “I knew who the conspirator behind the CM Punjab fiasco and creating controversy to overthrow Buzdar,” he told PTI lawmakers during a meeting. PM Imran warned that if Buzdar was removed from the post, the provincial government won’t be able to run and the new CM would not even last 20 days. Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the Members of National Assembly (MNAs) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to defeat the organised mafias involved in misleading the nationals by bringing positive administrative changes. PM Khan said, “Elimination of corruption is the manifesto of our political party. An organised mafia is promoting a negative impression against the government among nationals and the same people, who were misleading the nation since last many decades, are now seen spreading confusion.” The premier directed the NA lawmakers to defeat such elements by implementing positive administrative changes. He said that big fishes involved in criminal activities and running mafias were gripped across Punjab for the first time in the history. Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Karachi on a daylong visit to hold meetings with allies on today, media reported. Chief Minister of Sindh and Governor will receive the prime minister at the airport, sources said. A meeting between PM Imran Khan and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah is also expected tomorrow, in which Governor Imran Ismail will also be present, sources said. The prime minister is also expected to hold a separate meeting with I.G. Sindh Police Kaleem Imam. Prime Minister Imran Khan will attend a briefing on Karachi Package and the federal government funded projects in Sindh, sources said. The prime minister will hold a meeting with the businessmen of Karachi and the fund raising programme for Shaukat Khanum Hospital, according to sources. PM Imran Khan will also distribute cheques under the Prime Minister’s Kamiab Jawan Programme during his visit. Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet GDA chief Pir Pagara Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi in Karachi tomorrow (Monday), a GDA spokesman said. Sardar Abdul Rahim, a spokesman of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), has said that Prime Minister Khan during his Karachi visit tomorrow will hold a meeting with GDA chief Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi at his Kingri House residence. They will discuss development projects of Sindh in the meeting, Sardar Rahim said. The two leaders will also exchange views over the National Finance Commission Award and other issues of mutual interest, he added.
