Multan: Multan Sultans have completely rattled Peshawar Zalmi after opting to bowl first at Multan Cricket Stadium. They bowled out Zalmi for 123 in 18.3 overs.
From the start of the eighth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five, Sultans bowlers didn’t allow Zalmi batsmen to settle down at the middle.
Sohail Tanvir was the pick of the bowlers claiming four for 13 in 3.3 overs.
Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Ilyas picked two wickets each. Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir claimed a wicket respectively.
Haider Ali smashed 47 in just 27 balls, his innings included six fours and two sixes. Liam Dawson scored 22 off 23 balls.
They were the two notable scorers for the visiting team. Kamran Akmal only managed to score 15 which included three fours.
They first got rid of Zalmi’s opening duo of Tom Banton and Kamran in the first five overs. Later in one over, Young Ilyas claimed Shoaib Malik and Liam Livingstone in the sixth over.
Banton (4) was sent back to the pavilion by Irfan in the first over courtesy Shahid Afridi’s brilliant catch at cover. In the fifth over, Tanvir removed in-form Kamran Akmal.
Later Haider and Dawson added 44 for the fifth-wicket stand. Zalmi collapsed drastically from 85/4 to 113/9. Sultans require 124 to win their second match of the competition.
