2 Indian CRPF men killed in fratricide in IoK

SRINAGAR: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men were killed in a fratricide incident inside a water wing camp of the force at Srinagar’s Dal Lake, officials said. A senior CRPF officer said they were trying to ascertain the reason that led to the incident.
The slain two CRPF men were identified as Constable Siju and Constable Jala Vijay.
“Initial inputs reveal that Siju was sleeping and Jala opened fire on him and later shot himself dead,” the officer said.
The shooting created panic in the area.
Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident. This is the second fratricide incident in three days.
On March 21 a CRPF jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Srinagar.–Agencies
